Moving a figure by the 'body' is ok UNTIL YOU SAVE A POSE FILE !!!

I have emphasised this because , unless they fixed it in poser 6, it causes headaches for new users.

The body component is NOT saved in pose files.  

With IK turned off for the legs and hands you can move the figure by selecting the HIP.

If its a non-animated scene and you are not saving poses then feel free to use BODY, and you can move the figure with IK on.
