There was a thread a ways back about an ALIEN someone was making. I've lost track of it and I'm a big time ALIEN fan. I'd love to have a crack at it. No it was not the ALIEN that is at Propsguild. No, it's not the Queen Alien at Sixus. It was this one.

Did the artists ever finish it? Who was the artist? What format was it in? And was it ever availible to the public? What was it's fate?

Does anyone know?

Thanks.

Here's another shot. Again this is the creature from the first, and BEST of the films.

yes, wasn't virus involved somehow? (virus ran propsguild) maybe virus poserized the new one.

xantor ( ) posted Sun, 25 June 2006 at 8:03 PM

If it is the frank muenz alien, the poser version is available to download at planit3d.com it is called alien drone, the older propsguild one is there too.

coelacanthropy ( ) posted Sun, 25 June 2006 at 8:16 PM

Sorry Xantor, but this is the first Alien. The two Aliens at planit3d.com are from the third and fourth films. This one is different. Compare the hands, feet, head, tail and back pipes.

Alien V2.0 By Virus and SixPackWolf. It's from ALIEN3.

Alien Drone by Antares and Virus. It's from the fourth film.

This is the one I'm looking for and it's from the first, 1979 film.

coelacanthropy ( ) posted Sun, 25 June 2006 at 8:40 PM

I made a mistake. None of the propsguild Aliens are from the third film. I believe one is from AvP. The other is from the fourth film.

Miss Nancy ( ) posted Sun, 25 June 2006 at 9:16 PM

there used to be some guy with a yahoo group where he was distributing alien and/or predator models. I think he was tbkoen.

coelacanthropy ( ) posted Sun, 25 June 2006 at 9:28 PM

I have the tbkoen Predator. I never knew tbkoen to have made an Alien. This was from a thread within the past year. It may or may not have been in the poser forum. I don't remember that detail.

Thanks everyone for the help you've offered thus far. I sent a message to Virus. He may be able to help out too. jt411, in my opinion the first was the best, but yes it's a close call between the first and second, an excellent film in it's own right. I did some looking around. The Alien Drone by Antares and Virus is a model of the AvP Alien. The Alien V2.0 By Virus and SixPackWolf is the creature from Alien Resurrection. Here is a head shot of the one I'm looking for. Again, it's from the first film and the original Giger design.

jt411 ( ) posted Sun, 25 June 2006 at 10:53 PM

I've always considered Cameron's Aliens to be one of the best films ever made, but Scott's original is damn fine too.

yup that is from 3 - known as the 'Dog' alien since it took on characteristics from it's host ... a Rottweiler...

Time to show what a giant geek I am. The Dog Alien from Alien3 had legs like this alien model yes, but it did not have the pipes on the back. This is the creature from Alien Resurrection. It has a fin on the tail that was used to help it swim in the underwater scene. An interesting side note - the creature in Alien3 came out of a bovine instead of a dog in the new directors' cut.

I could'nt tell... my eye's glazed over before I got a clear look in 3..

tho they cocked up in 4 then.. how did it get those legs if the hosts were humans?
answer : FX house and Director not doing their homework....

Yes, three was not the best story wise, but it had great mood and nice sets. The story in the fourth was not the best either, but at least it had Winnona to look at. Here is a look at the Dog Alien from the 3rd film.

As far as I know there is no poser model of the Dog Alien, and it's a pity. There is also no poser model of the ALIENS drone. It's one of the best designs from the series. The thin arms are due to the use of puppet aliens in some of the more explosive shots.

I have been readind different scripts for Alien 3. First, does anyone know where all of the scripts can be found? Second, can anyone explain the history/choices involved in the script... did they have to do with Sigourney Weaver's contract? How did Weaver get on the first film to begin with?

How did she get on the first film? She did a script reading and the director Ridley Scott liked her. Sorry but I don't know much about ALIEN3 yet. I only watched it once when it first came out. I did just buy the nine disc ALIEN DVD set, so I reckon I'll be knowing more after I watch it all. I highly recomend this set and it was only $50 at Sam's. Before it was upwards of $80. So far I've watched/listened to commentary of the first two films and it's chock full of inside info such as what you asked about.
