Subject: Possible Monthly Challenge Idea: Eyes, cornea perhaps. Weird..oops.

This is just a late night thought for a Monthly Challenge sometime:   Eyes, perhaps parts of eyes or even a cornea!  See below for what the cornea is in English.

Why this thought? When our black and white kitty sits on my lap and turns just right, I look at her eyes, one eye, and the clear dome of her cornea is easily seen. I can see right through it and behind that is the pupil of her eye.   I tried one pic but was overexposed. Flash is not an option on this eye shot!

So, cornea, parts of eyes, seductive or alluring eyes of the tall dark stranger or the woman you meet by happenchance..the begging eyes of your dog, the strange eyes of a snake or lizard, whatever. If you think eyes might be a good challenge idea please let me(us, really) know.

This is posted as a thought.   Thanks for reading.        TomD'Art.

The cornea is the transparent, dome-shaped window covering the front of the eye. It is a powerful refracting surface, providing 2/3 of the eye's focusing power. Like the crystal on a watch, it gives us a clear window to look through.

I have a 'thing' for eyes myself,Tom.Two of the banners with eyes are mine,in fact. So sure,I'd be into it...

(And no,one of mine isn't the hulk/gorilla eyes,lol.That's Kort's.)

Me too.....i´m an eye-person so i would love that to be the next challenge. 😄

How come we say 'It's colder than hell outside' when isn't it realistically always colder than hell since hell is supposed to be fire and brimstone?

Me too... I can go with eyes I guess.
I had a suggestion from Valou  to make it "Perspective" so that sounded inyeresting as well.
Bet  more would go on the eyes though.
I  would give it a go.
This mont I want to try the RR contest format out on the challenge, so I do not miss any.
The change over got to me and I missed far too many.
Now if we want to throw ideas ont the crieria around lets do it.

As I understand it the cornea is the clear membrane over the pupil and iris?

Photographing that would be a challenge! Not sure how possible that would be, never tried that! I guess you would need to photograph the eye from an angle so it could be seen, the detail that can be seen in the iris can be impressive.

Enola, with one of our cats a cornea shot would be a challenge but much, much easier than with humans. From the side the cornea is easily seen..however captured on film or sensor is a different matter.  Of course, all sort of nice eye shots could make the challenge and not only parts of eyes.  Eyes may imply  much to the viewer and I would expect a few rather expressive photos to be posted.

Have you had opportunity to try the "monthly challenge" yet?  This is fun and often truly challenging.

PS Doug.  Valou's "perspective" is a good idea, too.

Perspective definately makes for  an interesting challenge, but I prefer 'eyes' or 'eye' macros this time, basically because it's one we haven't done before...Didn't we do perspective back in the early fall?

Anyway,like I said,I've got this 'thing' for eyes... ;^)

PS Of course it's possible we've done 'eyes' ,too and I just don't know about it.... :^/

I am making up this challenge page , so let's get some feedback on exactly what the guidelines would be.
My thoughts are eyes from a human or animal, and if there is going to be postwork, such as layering with other images, they must also be from photographs taken within the challenge date if July1 to 31 2006
The images are  max 1024x768 and under 200kb.
All TOS rules apply.
2 entries per person.
So basically it is the same deal as all our challenges, but the upload process will be through the Renderosity contest pages.
OK let me know what I missed.

And insects for those so inclined? There may be a few here that will have those,as well.No need to count those out. :^)

Just a thought...Usually there is a vote as to the next challenge. If this is to be the next one,I think you should  change the header on this thread or present it as a new thread asking the community at large, if they are in favor of this, as opposed to the usual way we've done things in the past.
