What is irritating is when they say that they are not going to support your version anymore and if you don't upgrade and spend some real $$$ your software will cease as they are also not going to reactivate it anymore either.  That's what Autodesk did with MotionBuilder and they dropped the Standard version at the same time.  Now they tell you you have to choice of getting a special deal to purchase the Pro version for $3,000 or kiss the software you bought goodbye!

I also had some software from some companies that went out of business.  There goes that software and $$$ goodbye as well...
