I wouldn't claim to understand what's going on but as I glanced through this I wondered if a little utility that I remembered downloading some months ago would actually help you in your situation. I've never had cause to use it yet, just downloaded it for the time when I expected I'd get one of those 'access denied' messages again which do crop up from time to time.This may help you at least find what is blocking your access
