Subject: Miki in P5 ?

I use Poser5 but mostly the P4 render. Now I would like to know if I can use the Character base figure   "Miki" by Content Paradies also in P5, because all adverts say she is a P6 figure. Has someone experiance, it would be helpful for me to know, I love this figure but don't want to change to P6. I would be very thankful for advice. Thanks!

i think i read somewhere else here that you can't use her in poser5!!! would recommend an upgrade to poser6 though as it is way better than poser5!!! i had 5 first then got 6,was scarred of 6 so still used 5,then played with 6 some more, loved it,then wiped 5 off me hard-drive!!!! you can use Miki in the face room in poser6 and she works really well in there(unlike jessie)

Thank you Vince!! I'm a lazy bugger and use mostly the P4 render, has P6 still one??? I have P6 but don't trust me to install it. Can you have both P5 and P6 installed on seperate harddrives??? I'm someone who can't learn from a manual, I have to do it and so I stuck sometimes on things. Thank you again for your help! Hugs

Miki is a P6 figure because of the PMD external Morphs feature.  Once you load the model, disable PMD and save again, it's usable in P5.

Yes you can have P5 and P6 installed on separate drives.  That said, if I were you, I would forget all about P5 and move to P6.  While you're at it, ditch the P4 render and go for full on P6.  Trust me, you won't regret it.

As SamTherapy said :) You can use Miki even in D|S but you will lose the ability to use most of her morphs outside Poser6 as they have some new morph system for her. Yes, I guess you can have P5 and P6 on separate harddrives, though pretty soon you will realize how much of a burden Poser5 is  You still can have your Poser5 runtime in Poser6, as an external one, so you will not have to reinstall all the goodies (though clean start is recommended as you can find TONS of stuff you never knew you had!) Just think of: 1) double click on an item to ADD it to the scene, instead of replacing what is already there 2) area rendering to check some part of your image without rerendering the whole pic again and again 3) much more stable work 4) nicer, less cluttered GUI 5) ability co compare up to 10 renders inside Poser 6) movable library (especially great if you have double screen) so that you don't have to scroll down one tiny column of thumbs but see as many as it fits on your screen 7) etc etc, too much to remember now  Poser6 still has P4 rendering engine, so that wouldn't be a problem :) Michal 4blueyes edited to add: why i like Poser6 :)

another benefit with poser6 is it auto-compresses your pz3,e.g..a full figure(head and body morphs) a full costume(sometimes i use the catsuit for parts like gloves and then add other costumes and accessories to get an outfit) and some props for scene!!will save at about 8-10mb,whereas in poser5 that little lot would save at about 100mb!!!!!!!!! you can use the p4 renderer in poser6,but you may not want to when you find out what you can do with the firefly renderer!!!

You can save compressed pz3 files in propack and poser 5 also.
