Hello sd012q..
What do you mean buy skin tutorials? you mean manipulation to change the whole poson/shot!
something like this: http://excalibur.renderosity.com/mod/gallery/index.php?image_id=1210203
or all what you are looking for is the background extraction? please provide me with more information..
And if you are looking just to extract objects from its backfgrounds.. then goto filter menu under your photohop and in the top you will see extract...
1- With a chose tiny brush size.. (You can choose it on the right option) draw on the edges of that object you wanna extract.. all the way around it and try to be very accurate.. I use a 2000DPI mouse and a 1600DPI track ball for that.. You still can do that with the regular mice tho.. But you really need to be so accurate..
2-You will find that line on the edge is about pinky colour. So when you reach the starting point..
3- Click on the pocket (FILLER) on the left menu.. And fill the inner of your drawing then hit extract.
4-You can use a smooth eraser to clean the edges once again in the main layer option.. and you are done. Depends how good you are..
Also there are many different ways to do so.. If this didn't work with you.. Then please answer back i will give you some other tips
And by then check this link: www.pixel2life.com it is one of the best.. And from there choose the Adobe Photoshop tutorials..
Thank you and regards..
JOE
btw.. Can you post what you want to extract please.. I mean upload it or attach it to this thread?

Hi sd012q,
I'm going to assume you want to know how to paint skin in Photoshop. If you are just talking about postworking Poser renders in Photoshop then there are many good tutorials on this site - under Poser and Photoshop.
Here are some websites for Photoshop that you will hopefully find interesting:
www.digitalartform.com/archives/2005/04/painting_with_p.html
www.furiae.com/index.php?view=gallery
www.wade.pwp.blueyonder.co.uk/tutorial1.htm
www.rasterized.org/PS-Basics/PS_intro.htm
Right, just read through this post. Here, I think, is what you are trying to do.
Render your Poser image. Make sure that you have no background.
Save your image as a TIF or PSD. If you are using Photoshop you might as well save it as a .PSD.
Open the image in Photoshop.
On the channels tab, its next to the layers tab, section you will notice that you now have an alpha channel. Click this and you will see that the image becomes black and white, makng it easy to pick up your wand tool and simply make your selection.
When you go to your layers section you will now see that you have selected the figure only.
Let me know if that does it for you.
Hope they will be of some help.

This is a Mac site but will apply to both. Tutorial is in three parts and you get some free brushes that are perfect for adding texture to skin.
Oh, and an easy way to delete the background is to select it with your Magic Wand, tolerance high, feather by 1, hit the "delete"key. Or do just what I said, but after selecting and feathering, invert the selection, hit Ctrl+J and a new layer will be created with just the figure. That way the original is left alone.
Render against a solid black or white background. Makes it easier.
