I think Danob you are complete right here...
I have the same after I bought my 30D.
It was a show model.....

NOT USED...BUT TOUCHED!!!
Still have some dirt on the mirror......
and I can't clean it....it was from the  beginning....

It is a big different if you change the lens if it is your own camera
or if people try a cam out in the store...
who knows how many hands touched the camera

and take a peek inside of the cam and touched it with their fingers?
If it was your own camera you will treat it more carefully

than if you go to a store.....
and yes I have sometimes dirt on it

because I use different lenses during my trips
and if it is windy the dust creeps everywhere

and FOTOGEN: yes, it will happen again, that's the problem!!!
