-I don't know if this is the exact source of the problem, but...Bryce lights that have the "cast shadows" turned off can have the effect of the light traveling through objects. They can also sometimes do this also if in the skylab, the "sun/moon shadow intensity" is not turned up high enough.

-Also, as a generic fyi; With volumetric lights, in the Light Lab, under the Render Options, it is usually best to have the "visible object" turned on, no matter if it is surface or volume, (yet obvioulsly if you want the light to look volumetric, it is usually best to also go with that) and, the Infinite Light option turned on. This will help the light rays travel farther.

Don't know if any of that relates...lol.
