Hi, I'm looking for some good sources for Poser or BVH animations!

Thanks in advance.

There's some in the Renderosity market place.

Also, check out Eclipse Studios:

http://www.es3d.com/

They have lots of free samples.

Let's not forget the PoseAmation sets!

We've also been looking for some dance animations for a project.

We actually ordered  some kits from http://www.es3d.com/ (Eclipse Studios) but they NEVER delivered the animations or bothered to return any of our email inquires - a bit unprofessional if you ask me.

I'm curious if anyone has had success using them.

Good-luck Omadar - let me know if you find anything.

Sorry to hear that…

You know, that's the second time I've heard that in the past two days. A friend ordered from them and didn’t receive her order; but I have heard some good things about Eclipse so I wonder if they are having server issues?

Personally this is why I prefer to buy from places like Renderosity - as soon as you pay you get your downloads - no messing around.

Pinky - you left the lens cap of your mind on again.

I finally received my animation a from  http://www.es3d.com/. Apparently a heat-wave in the US mucked with their servers.

Everything is joy-joy now.

I bought some asnimations form them.  The first time I bought an animation pack, there was a problem with their e-mail server talking to mine.  However, after  I gave them another e-mail address I got the stuff I ordered.   After that, I've had no problems.  I'm working on my animation for the contest they are hosting, and I'm using some of their BVH mocap files in the video.

are there any animations that have been tweaked for V3?
i remember an issue with applying standard BVH files to V3 resulting in some wierd joint issue with her knees.. it looked like they would dislocate as she walked. has that been fixed or does it still occur with standard BVH files?

If I order from es3d, does the animation come online or is it shipped because paypal payment asked verification for shipping address

slakrboy ( ) posted Wed, 19 July 2006 at 7:11 AM

They send a download link and password to you.  Paypal always asks for verification.  Good luck!

BTW, Eclipse has a contest going on right now where you can win one of everything on their site.  I'm working on my entry now...

The only times I've run into this one BH is when scaling wasn't used on import, or there was something seriously funky with the motion capture to begin with (like being from a weight-mapped figure rigged so the 'joint' could slide around to make the hinging look right....which Poser and its rigid boning really doesn't like)...

I just bought the Ultimate Dance collection yesterday.  I don't use Paypal but ES3D store does let you use a credit card, though it is submitted through Paypal (but no difference to purchaser than regular credit card transaction as far as I could see).  Anyway, they sent the download link right away so I was pleased with how well the purchase process went.

And I really like the collection.  Only gripe is that there is no readme which lists the dance numbers and matches them with the dance description, at least that I could find.  Had to go to the ES3D website and capture the list and dance descriptors off the product page.  But then that didn't work that well since the web page text would not cut and paste and I had to just capture the entire web page as an htm file.

And then I was chagrined to find that the numbered dances 1 through 62 on the product page didn't correspond to the numbering of the dances in the two separate pose library directories you get.  In fact, they start renumbering the second batch again from 1, so Dance 62 on the web page is actually the PZ2 named Dance Motion 21 in the second pose library.  Very confusing.

Plus, if you wanted to combine the two subdirectories you would overwrite 21 of them unless you change the file names before combining (i.e., both directories have different dance motion files which share the filenames Dance Motion 1.pz2 through Dance Motion 21.pz2).  I plan to go through and renumber all the files  (thank goodness for Explorer XP and its bulk renaming) and then find some way to generate an index page without having to view the entire catalogue page as an htm file.

But I like the set well enough to go through all that.  I've already started modifying the PZ2s so they work better with my characters, including less extreme movements for some body parts, adjusting height off floor, setting foot bend for high heels, etc.  Thank goodness for Ockham's Emphasparsifizer python script!

Well, to try to be helpful here, I thought I'd pass along the index I made.  Hopefully I can upload a rich text format.

Tguyus ( ) posted Thu, 20 July 2006 at 8:41 PM

oops, well I can't upload rtf files and txt version makes all the numbers in the frames column disappear for some reason.  I guess I should let the ES3D folks address this from their original file lists if they are inspired.  sorry
