Subject: Looking for V3 texture maps without eyebrows

AnAardvark ( ) posted Sun, 23 July 2006 at 5:31 AM · edited Fri, 29 November 2024 at 9:17 AM

I'm looking for good V3 texture maps, preferably in the paler end of the color spectrum, which do not come with eyebrows already. I would like to use transmapped eyebrows, since I have more control over the color, or else use Paintshop Pro to add eyebrows in the color that I want. I know that I can "brush out" the existing eyebrows, but that seems like more work than I would like if there are textures around already which would help.

Any recommendations?

I'm  not sure what it's called in Paint Shop Pro, but in Adobe Photoshop, there's the 'Cloning Tool,' why not use its equivalent to remove the eyebrows from those textures you already have?  Also, why not adjust their skin tones with one of the Image Adjustment Tools?
Of clourse, finding ready-made textures that already meet your purpose is good too.

"It is called the clone brush in paint shop pro."

Ane is it easier or harder to use than its equivalent in Photoshop?

The clone brush is fairly easy to use.

I haven`t actually used the photoshop one, I find photoshop to be difficult to use and a bit clunky.

And I could never quite figure out what was meant by rastorizing, and frankly was afraid to find out (It sounded a little too much like a perversion).

Not in the light skins, but no eyebrows: Tawnie (Morris?), Stacey_73 Savannah
Lighter: StephanieBT's Violet, Michele's Nerielle
Also Khrys Dahra and XieReborn

There will be others.
I checked the headmaps, and the above come with a headtex that has no eyebrows.

Handy to have lists.

Semi-OT

Rasterizing essentially turns an object layer (such as a text or path layer) into pixels.

After rasterizing, you could apply filters or any other operations that you could not previously do.

After rasterizing, you will effectively lose the ability to edit the object (text for example) so be sure you really want to do it before rasterizing.

Hope this helps.

Sorry I can not be of any help with the P6 problem.

I could understand painting on eyebrows  on the texture for a character that didnt have the possibility of having transmapped eyebrows but why the hell does almost everyone do it on V3 textures? that gets so annoying buy a texture and have to take it into photoshop to remove the eyebrows and pubic hair so that transmaps can be used.

You would think that texture creators would realize they could save some time by not painting that stuff on the texture.

MaskEdit's Merchant Resource 5 has both with- and without-brow head textures.  I have several skin texture sets from this vendor and they are highly detailed.  Some of my favorite pale with- and without-freckles skins are by MaskEdit.  I'm not sure which sets have drawn on brows and which do not but you could probably ask the vendor  directly.  Who knows, it might inspire a new set of pale skins without brows.
