Mostly, if I'm working on something, I prefer as little noise as possible. Unfortunately, in the current heat (in the UK), I have to have the windows open, so I am subjected to the random sounds being foisted on me by cars with their stereos going full blast. Not to mention emergency vehicles (with sirens), locals on the street (having arguments and /or shouted conversations), car and other alarms going off.. the list of noise pollution goes on-and-on.

BUT! When the windows can be closed to keep out the chaos, then I can work in silence (aaahhh!)

And if I want music then it's probably going to be (any of) Pink Floyd's albums (1st), diverse American Country-Rock albums, or classical symphonies (depending on the mood I'm in)..

And no. You couldn't guess what type of image I'm working on fom the music (or vice-versa). In my own mind, the two are totally separate. (I'll concentrate on one thing at a time - the other is subordinate. If the music takes my attention, I stop working on the image...)

That's just me, but it might help your attempt at identifying the "influence of music"...
