1)Bryce 4 does read the figure names properly. There is still some work to be done when using Bryce 4, but really it does make life a bit easier. Also you should get an upgrade price rather than having to pay the full cost. 2) But Bryce 3 is still quite usable even with very complex scenes. (I've done five figures, all with clothes and props, in a setting with several thousand objects, without too much difficulty.) Here are some tips: A - Bryce always imports an .obj so that the largest dimension is 40.96. In Poser, create a prop that is a vertical stick bigger than anything else. Include it in all your exports. As soon as you import into Bryce, delete the stick. But all your imports will be correctly scaled! Note: you need to do this in Bryce 4 as well, so get into the habit. B - If you do this, you can open a new Bryce document for each figure while you texture them, and then copy and paste them all into your final scene. C - Alternatively, don't forget solo mode. It can be a life-saver. 3) Make sure you have Bryce 3.1 and not 3.0. Doing this in 3.0 is a nightmare because the selection tool is buggy.
