Iloco, I'm sorry if you feel the word "mob" is derogotory. I really wasn't meant that way.
When we all jump on a hot topic, we always form a mob. Too many people trying to talk at once. Comments out of synch. Hotblooded responses that later have to be "qualified" or retracted. I've never once minded being part of the mob here, ... and this is not the first time I've taken an unpopular position and been pummeled by the mob. I'm happy to say that I've always found it useful, being part of the mob. To me, anyhow, its not a ill-meant phrase.
There are things I don't like. For example, I very much like Veritas. But I hate it when he yells "NAZI!" Doesn't change my affection for Veritas one bit. The whole episode here doesn't change my affection for anyone here. We very often are a mob here. The only part I really dislike are the personal "site messages' that are meant to be hurtful, or maybe just represent the need to have the last word on the subject. But that didn't happen in the publci discussion, and I hope to live long enough to participate in at least one more of these mob discussions before I hang it up.
