They are right about display drivers. Very unlikely to be that, if you turn off (full left on slider) all hardware acceleration for Windows and it doesn't cure the problem. That basically turns your driver into a generic VGA type that is extremely unlikely to fail.

Have you tried turning off all security (scumware/anti-virus, etc.) programs? Read a rumor that some anti-virus apps can cause Vue problems - don't know how true that is. Never happened to me with Vue 5 Infinite.

Guess you realise that when e-on says "512MB free memory" is the minimum, that means 512MB left AFTER loading Windows and all else. I wouldn't be surprised by problems if you don't have 1GB at least - but e-on support must have mentioned that.

Sorry i don't have a solid answer...
