This must be devastating for you and your wife.  Poor little critter.  Hold on to the fond memories.  His spirit will always be with you.  I'll bet even now you'll smile as you recall some of his antics and his (mostly, lol) unconditional love for you both.  :)  My heart goes out to you both.
