Subject: Tracks in the Snow? How?

korstemplar ( ) posted Sat, 26 August 2006 at 10:47 PM · edited Fri, 22 November 2024 at 11:42 AM

Hi everyone, I'm having some problems trying get realistic tracks layed down in snow. And I'm talking about all kinds of tracks-animal, wheels, human, etc., etc..I've been experimenting with different filters combined with the smudge tool among others. But it's difficult to get that disturbed snow effect while maintaining the surrounding natural atmosphere. Can anyone help with some advice on how to achieve this or are there any tutorials around for this subject? Thanks very much

Have you read the thread linked above yet? Let us know if any of the layer effect techniques on it work for you. If not, I'm sure someone will pipe up with an alternative. I still think the best way is to paint the tracks in, as I don't see an easy way with filters, but maybe the layer effects will help you.

Thanks much aprigem! I'll give it a try and let you know the result. Cheers.
