Subject: web ring

Fringewood ( ) posted Sat, 12 August 2006 at 11:33 AM · edited Mon, 25 November 2024 at 6:18 PM

One glaring loss of listings in the free stuff is the web ring listing.  Now there is nowhere at Renderosity that allows for links to a web site for further content.  When home page is clicked, it goes to the artist page, not the web ring listing.  I guess the idea is make everyone here and nowhere else.

Well, I just removed the web ring material from my site.  No sense in hosting gratuity to a site if it's not going to be supported in kind.  No longer will anyone find their way here through my web referrals.

I feel like my trust for all these years of support has been silently betrayed.

What has happened is that as we are converting the site there is no way for the features that have moved to the PHP side to support the web ring until the web ring itself moves to the PHP side. We are looking at having the web ring converted over sometime in the coming month or so. Once it's there, I assure you, the sponsored links will come back to the freestuff/galleries/etc 😄. N

Somehow I don't believe you Nicholas.

I'm absolutely positive that there was a meeting held (without my presence or approval) where the topic of intentionally betraying our trust was discussed.

That's my knee jerk reaction to the subject of the web-ring, and you can not convince me otherwise to actually inquire about the situation before drawing my conclusion.

This is the link to the old web ring.  Why can't a link to it be placed in the side bar until the site is working as it should be?

Funny thing is....... The link does work perfectly from Renderosity as it is.
