Just a few thoughts....
If you guys are really serious about the "duel of the apps" to make it objective, there should be no postwork. With postwork, things can become a duel whom is better at postwork... Perhaps a short animation with a still or two showcasing the high res. rendering ability. That would make it near impossible to do a lot of postwork...

Either way, I think we'll see some outstanding work!
I'm tempted to test my abilities here too, but at the rate my life schedule is going, it may take me a year to complete it, and I don't want to be a 'mee tooo'. Being that have modelled things of this complexity in the past, and have a new program to get a better hang of, It's awfully tempting!
