(I think) he means that you can (more easily) pack more Bryce primitive made polygons into a Bryce scene, than you can imported polygons.
i.e. - Bryce handles its own objects far better than it does with imported objects. (My old robot has like 850 Bryce primitives in it, at only around 89,000 polys).
