Oh, that's sad (about the theft).

The thing that amazes me is that the various figures are recognizable.  I knew Winston Churchill's image before I saw the caption.  You can see which of Henry VIII's wives are which.  The detail is just beyond belief.

And, I never thought about the paint thickness.  I wonder what he uses for a brush??
