you're a genius...thank you so much for responding phil. i had hoped a cagey vetern would spot this. it seems i'm having some issues over here that i would not have noticed if i hadn't followed you advice...since it works for you and not me that pointed me to what is causing my problems!

the sr2 blank that i've been using is screwed up! no matter how many times i turn off i.k., zero the pose and memorize/figure, then save to library...whenever i bring it back in the right foot is all screwed up...just like my boot was doing. my blank m3sr1 is bunk!!! ahhhhhhhhh!

so i used m3sr1 (no blank) as my donor and followed the rest of your mini-tutorial, went and rehacked my CR2's to reflect runtime/geometries/boot.obj, loaded the boots and conformed to figure and posed...woo hoo! it's all good!

however, (isn't there always one of those!) "before" conforming the boot to the feet the bottoms of the boots are fine and don't show m3's feet...but after conforming the boots m3's feet show through on the bottom...how or is there a way to fix this? the easy way would be to make m3's feet invisable...but then i'm cheating.
