Subject: 160 Megapixel camera (its huge)

Attached Link: Seitz 6x17 Digital camera

I saw this link at the DPR forums. Would you buy a camera this big? I'm amazed that it uses a Mac Mini for storage. It has dynamic range of 11f-stops (the new Leaf Aptus cameras have 12).

Question the question. Answer the question. Question the answer...

I couldn't see me toting that thing around. I would have to hire an assistant just to carry it

It is on the rather large side:)

I never intended to make art.

Well maybe some of the technology will filter down to other cameras in time but thats too much money to do Pano and it is big and ugly

That is one huge camera. I haven't seen anything that can get those wide panoramic shots in a single click since my days in the US Army. At those prices, only government contracts and production studios could justify the expense.

I'd not only need an assistant to carry it around, but my assistant would need two bodyguards uglier than the camera to prevent getting jumped!!!

What a fun idea and cool camera. Not very practical for most of us, but if I knew I needed to get a pano of a bunch of windsurfers, I'd want that one in my bag! ;oP Thanks for sharing that link with us.

LOL @ Joe's*...."but my assistant would need two bodyguards uglier than the camera to prevent getting jumped!!!"*

it is bloody ugly isn't it.....

Once in a while I look around,
I see a sound
and try to write it down
Sometimes they come out very soft
Tinkling light sound
The Sun comes up again

How come we say 'It's colder than hell outside' when isn't it realistically always colder than hell since hell is supposed to be fire and brimstone?

LOL
only 28.900 Euro? What a cheap camera...
omg

very big, isn't it? I'm really wondering who will run around with such a huge toy...

I'd love to shoot a family of people with this device, I am most sure they will smile! :)

Radlafx ( ) posted Sun, 24 September 2006 at 8:22 PM

The reason why its so big is because it has a mac mini in it which is 6.5"L 6.5"W 2"H. Now if Apple designed it...
