Quote - OMG,
I'm glad that you are ok. One thing to keep the stink down is to stuff a wet towel under your main entry door. This will also help to keep smoke from entering as well. One thing you might want to look into, is a smoke hood. It is essentially a plastic bag you put over your head with a small air supply (compressed air in a can). You can probably find one at an Army Surplus type of store. Also, if your walls are smoke stained, you can wash them down with a TSP (Tri-Sodium Phosphate) solution. I wish you well. -Starkdog
I did the towel thing at the bottom of my door. Actually, I always have a towel by the bottom of my door because the people in the apartment across from me smoke pot and I can't stand the smell.
The fire was 4 floor below and I didn't get any smoke in my apartment so luckily I don't have to clean. I can't say the same for those in the surrounding apartments to the fire though. I'm sure there is probably water damage all the way down to the basement.
