First make sure you have all your material colors set to white when you apply a texture.
Second, you can take the image into Photoshop or any other 2D Image program and lighten the texture by playing with the brightness/contrast. There's several other ways to go about this depending on the abilities of the paint app you use.

I am searching for light-skined textures to use with Vicki. All of the textures I have downloaded have a reddish tan kind of look. I'm looking more for a texture for a light-skinned caucasian who doesn't spend much time in the sun. Suggestions? Also, I'd be interested to know if there were a relatively easy way to lighten the skin color on textures I have downloaded.
