Quote - > Quote - This is probably old news, but I read an interview with Dan at Daz and he said V4 will be backwards-compatable and that's why they've been holding off on the release.
Dan Farr makes a clarification of this point on the first page of posts in the linked thread:

Basically, I understand him to be saying that the V4 backwards-compatibility with V3's clothes will be accomplished via a full body morph for V4 -- a morph to make V4's body shape itself like V3's. Otherwise, V4 will be completely unique.
actually let me clarify that a bit more with the full actual quote on V4-v3 compatiblility > Quote - Hello, It has been pointed out by some of the mods here that I needed to clarify a statement that I made in the Artzone Chat. The V4 to V3 clothing fit will be done similarly to what we did for the V3 to V2 (and other figures) clothing fit. Effectively this is done internally by creating a morph target from V4 that has the body shape of V3. Then we regroup the model so that it can use the V3 rig for compatability with V3 clothing. It will be compatable with the V4 head morphs and the whole figure will retain the V4 UV's. Sorry if the statement I made was not as clear as it should have been. Sincerely, Dan Farr
so basicly what we are talking about is a seperate V4 to V3 figure, along the lines of the V3 to V2 figure. this will not share the same rigging as the new V4 figure.
