The only way that message can appear, is if you are trying to edit an image that is not yours, or if your login was different from when you sent the upload form to when it was processed. Make sure you are logged in as yourself. And make sure you stay logged in as yourself. When you change logins, you should use the "Logout" link on the sidebar.
