Another thought on the Wright Brothers - they weren't credited as "inventing the airplane" - they were credited with "the first successful flight". MANY poeple tried making successful airplanes/flying machines throughout history, but the Wright Brothers supposedly made the first repeatable (apparently the detriment of Bell's flight?) successful flight.

DaVinci's design may have worked, but no one tested it out until... Yeah, the Wright Brothers tested their design before DaVinci... Hence, the credit.

This thread has gone WAY OT - back to the original post, was anyone aware that there's a movement going on to teach phonetic English writing instead of what we are using right now?

Yes, people are currently saying that traditional English is too hard to spell correctly (meaning they're too lazy to learn - good luck at a University!), and are trying to get schools to change how they teach to match cell-phone texting...

Yes, I realize things change over time but... I fear for the future...
