The phrase "your stupid friend" can have a number of different meanings -- depending upon emphasis, inflection, and tone.  Spelling and punctuation can help to clarify which meaning is intended:

Your stupid friend. (You have a friend who is stupid)
You're stupid.......friend. (You might be stupid, but you are still my friend.  And I still like you.)
You're stupid, friend. (You aren't my friend, but you are stupid)
You're stupid, friend. (It's not me who is the stupid one.  It's you.)
You're STUPID, friend. (The primary aspect of your personal character which stands out is that you are stupid.)

Well -- I see that we've yet to agree upon who it was that invented the airplane.  The people who flew one, or the people who imagined / thought about flying one?  Or the people who improved upon the design of the original two who actually did fly one?

These are deep matters.  The fate of Western Civilization hinges upon our answer to this burning question.  In this forum.
