I actually think the underlying gripe is the lack of trying, not the lack of ability.

If there's a lack of ability, we understand completely and work harder at understanding the intended message - it's those that do not even TRY to get it right, assuming we'll all just work harder to mutter through bad spelling (not necesarily grammar, it seems) to vaguely figure out what they're trying to tell us.
