In this case, there will be a better programmer out there who is able to find a loophole in your process or a workaround, such as via a firewall, as it is highly unlikely that you can honestly intend to release a product that you must have an internet connection to use when it is not an internet-related application. And I too would like to know exactly what information you will be collecting from our computers, as we have a right to know, and measures such as that put you in very shadowy legal waters, the likes of which I would hate to see happen. But it lines you up for them if you're not careful (and you can never be too careful, or careful enough) Please clarify this for us.
