Good article Ariannah - and I'm glad to see someone finally putting it in print that DPI or PPI doesn't mean squat until it's going out for print.

I've tried that upsampling trick, BTW - you need to start out with a BIG image to begin with! This will NOT work with something like an 800x600 image!

Yeah, people may be experienced users, but it tends to be in certain areas, and then spillover into some others. I do multiple image compositing with the intent that nobody will ever know by looking at the finished product, but can't do graphics to save my life! I'll toil away for hours trying to get something I remotely like, and my buddy Dave (a graphic designer, oddly) will sit down, make 5-6 clicks and it's suddenly awesome (at this point I look over at him, smile, and thoughtfully say, "you suck.")!
