Mine is simply taken from a poem I wrote in memory of my late husband... Blue Echo (the first verse) Silently, sadly, I call, call out the whole nightlong, Calling, repeating, over, and over, the same sad refrain; Listen--it’s so blue--this sound, the echo of this song, A singsong chant, a plea, as I call your name, all in vain; (the closing verses) For one heartbreaking night, Death came suddenly, to take you away, Had he hoped to silence the words, words that used to thrill me so; Those beautiful, beautiful words you whispered in my ear every day, Deep, deep in my heart, I hear them still, and always will, I know; And yet, somehow, even as they give me such joy, such gladness, Those wonderful, beautiful words, Darling, I love you, love you; Also rend, yes, they tear at my heart, causing an aching sadness, As they replay, repeat, like an echo, a blue echo, an echo in blue:
