For the cork texture from scratch:

Illustration#1:

Open Bryce create model. In material lab place a bead in the “A” channel.

In the DTE set up all the colors in component #1 as indicated, these colors can be changed to taste.

Set the color mode for component #1 to RGB-Spline Interpol. Then proceed to the noise dialog and edit:

Type=Voronoi ID1

Mode=Minimum

Octaves=3

Direction XY=80

Direction YZ=0

Frequency X, Y and Z =115

Set to 2D

In the Phase dialog:

Type=RND Linear

Mode=Standard

Octaves=2

Direction XY, YZ=0

Frequency X, Y, Z=89

Set to 3D

Setup component filters as indicated and accept changes.

Combination component color mode should be set to “none”.

Illustration#2:

From the Textures library bring up Swirlwave as channel “B” material.

Illustration#3:

From the Textures library bring up Basic Tile as channel “C” material.

Illustration#4:

For the Basic Tile material enter the DTE and shut off all components except the first. Bring up the noise dialog and bring the frequency to 1.

Illustration#5:

Channel’s 1 and 2 should be set to “Object Cubic” and the channel 3 set to “Object Space”.

Edit scale controls for channels A, B and C as follows:

Channel A=135

Channel B=150

Channel C=18

All scales can be manipulated to taste.

Set diffusion value=55 and bump to somewhere around 3 and everything else off.
