Hi there

I can find the solution to this strange thing..

I have a Wall ..i use a Cube to make me a window ..so i cut the Cube out of the wall..

When i work with it this looks OK ..i beveled the sides .. etc etc..

Aslong as im working with it i can see true the hole...

But when i save it as OBJ and reload ..ALL of the extra work is there ..See image B

But i there is no HOLE in the Plane of the wall.. See Image A ..

I think i have to Finalize the work  but i can seem to find HOW to do that..

THnx in advance

Chris

Why use boolean in this instance? I believe bridging faces and then beveling gives a more predictable result. I never use booleans in Silo, probably out of habit, so I cannot give you the "scientific" explanation of why it happens...

Well i use Booleans to cut the window because i know what it does :}

I learned the boolean in MAX and it worked in Hex ..so that why i do it this way...

But i thought that make a wall from a cube and then cut out the windows .. was a fast way to do it ...

and i the front face was cut out aswell it is a good way to make wall's is it not ...

Damn im starting to believe i do everything wrong ..with modeling :{

Thnx Chris

No it is just that with every modeler you have to approach modeling a bit different.

I always model in editable poly, cut, quick slice, chamfer, extrude, weld ... == nice. I hate what boolean does to my models :( takes me longer to clean up its mess than to just do it manually, but i guess yer talkin about silo so, ... not sure if it works the same way :(
