The only thing (as far as I am aware) that you need to run XP64 or Vista 64 is a 64bit processor. I know that AMDs have no problem, though I think that the Intel Itanium processors are NOT acceptable. I am not familiar enough with that particular "problem" so if you have an Itanium you should research further.
