Oh, I think my posterior is safe. Not having played with the new kiddies I can't comment on their ease of use or any issues they may have....but it was obvious that they were starting in the basement and working their way up. Next we get an in-app function that does what Mimic does; possibly a bolt on, but there would have to have been some work on the base code to make it play nicely with the other apps. And the almost toss off mention of going to U Binary for the Mac crowd...which almost ensures that serious work has been done. It isn't quite as simple as setting a flag in the compiler and things automagically shift over. Now we have something that was simply impossible with the P6 and earlier code; multiple levels of undo. Up to 100, according to the copy. There =has= to have been major overhauling of source code for that one to work....and since it would have to have been the memory management scheme, such improvements would span the entire application. The question is just what can be included in that hundred step ladder. Even just standard items like morphs, INJ's, poses, and figure/prop loads is an impressive leap. If that undo-redo system includes the dynamic elements as well, they didn't just tweak the mem manager; they yanked it out by the short and curlies and created an entirely new system. And we have 4 reasons to go. Nope. Tushy isn't even at terror alert orange. The thing about this latest is what it implies for future reasons. Since it said 'up to 100 levels', then obviously scene complexity plays a part in how many undos you have. But it may also be an indicator that system resources and capability plays a hand...like maybe a 64 bit codebase option, to get around the 2 gig address cap. I do believe that P7 is the release when the animators get some attention..... :D
