I just hope people will start using some of the Poser 5 features which will let them use smaller texturemaps, and give up on P4 compatibility that requires a texturemap that fills UV-space. Stewer, Diolma, you might know if it makes a difference: I'm talking about the Scale and Offset parameters that can be applied to an image-map node in the Materials Room. Various tricks I've seen suggest that the Firefly render engine is internally 16-bit, possibly with one bit for a sign-bit. That includes greyscale colour depth, as used by stonemason for displacement maps. But you have to work around Poser's limits on reading a bitmap.
