My only obsevation in all of this is that,for the most part, the gallery serves as a place to display your art. The oohs and ahhs are icing on the cake and encouraging to be sure. If a person wants a piece critiqued then the forum is a good place to post it. I think many are reluctant to be critical in the galleries but would be more than happy to assist, if asked, in the forum.

Being a total amateur I'm reluctant to comment unless the piece strikes me "just so". Not saying anything doesn't mean I didn't like it...I just didn't know what to say. On the other hand, I don't know enough to be critical of anothers work so I try not to put my foot in my mouth.

This "newby" will sit down now.
