The screenshot shows poser and vue side by side, with a render in both applications.
Note that the outline is not reproduced right away in Vue as it is a post processing from the Poser engine. The material itself is reproduced correctly. The outline could be re-created with a Python script I suppose (maybe dburdick will confirm :) ).
From what I can tell, poser doesn't have to be open at the same time as Vue, but you will need to open poser if you want to edit poser materials used in Vue.
The system is using the 'link to poser' previously used to automatically update poser scenes in Vue after changing wthem in Poser.
I didn't display them here but you have the option to edit the pose from inside Vue (all morphs and pose controls are accessible).
I do not have Face_off's materials, so I couldn't test them. If you know where i can find free toon shaders for poser, I will be able to make a more elaborate test.
