While I have never used those particular CDs, I have read mixed reviews. Some, like Peggy whom I respect, say they are good for what they are. Others says they are tripe, and that the customer service from them is very lacking.

I have learned VUE simply from what others suggested. I hang around here, see images I like, try to reproduce them, learn as I go.

I only recently started learning the Materials function editor thanks to some free video tutorials here. I can't wait until that person releases their VUE 6 vids. That I will pay for.
