shoesser & Warangel, I do appreciate your input.  I'm going to think about it and in the meantime, search out all the free tutorials I can find.  Money's tight right now so free is always good.  I've also read the mixed reviews on Asile's CD's but like Warangel, respect Peggy's work very highly.  For that reason, I feel I owe it to myself to at least give them consideration.  I see that Gnomon has V5 training CD's as well but haven't yet seen any feedback on them so will need to do more research.

I think there's enough free tutorials, demos and forums to ask questions in to at least help me get started.  The hard part will be in allowing myself some time to get over the hurdle of becoming familiar with Vue and its interface.  In the past I've allowed that to defeat me before giving it a proper chance.  This time, I'm trying to change that and just enjoy the ride.
