..well, Agiel, did your Beta Copy require you to be on the internet to register it?

 And/or is E-on maybe doing the old Poser 5 thing that has a little program that looks for another "instance" of V6i running?

That, of course, became a hugely unpopular "feature" in the Poser Community until Curious Labs later semi-disabled it. ...(the other simple thing was to just log off your home network)... but honestly- I'm not looking really for ways to defeat such a scheme.. ..mainly just worried about how far they might go until it causes another big "up-roar"...

The old scheme required having BOTH an older copy on your machine (for an upgrade) and putting in BOTH the OLDER CD and then the NEWER CD, and also entering both serial numbers at some point (as I re-call)... quite a few steps... how much more can they add except having to go on-line and perhaps maybe checking your EXACT OS and CHIP Codes (like Microsoft does)...(Another reason why I think I want to AVOID Windows VISTA for at LEAST 6-12 months)... Nothing to hide- but I suspect VISTA is going to be another Windows ME or some other 1-2 year transitory 64 bit Microsoft OS until a TRUE Professional 64 bit Microsoft OS emerges...and I just don't want to be a part of all the GARBAGE they are going to install in people machines so that we can "enjoy" the internet experience...!!!HEH!!!
