Subject: Poser shader import - transmap problem - anyone else?

jb11 ( ) posted Sun, 05 November 2006 at 5:01 PM · edited Sun, 01 December 2024 at 10:51 AM

I've tried some tests importing from poser into Vue 6 Infinite using shader mats but transparencies aren't showing at all.  It may be something to do with the maps being negative to those in poser but you can't edit the mats to swap that with shader import. The same transparencies are fine using the Vue 5 style material import.

This has happened with several different figures with Vue restarted each time - hair, crows, mapped planes. The Poser version is 5.

Anyone else getting this or is it something about my setup?

Jane,

Could you post a side by side comparison of the material as rendered in Poser and the Material as rendered in Vue6.

This is a quick render of the imports into Vue and the same figure (Noggin's Crows - Hooded Crow) rendered in Poser. You can easily see the black area at the top of the leftmost crow's legs which should be transparent as in the others.

The Vue ones have the light behind the camera as I wanted it fairly even for comparing the two imports together, so they look a bit flat.

Thanks for any help

That's definitely a bug.  You should report this to e-on tech support and if possible, provide a link containing the Vue6 shader mat file version.

Thanks for this. I'll let them know. As quite a few people were posting Poser imports and nobody had complained, I began to think that I was doing something odd.
