So a while later : Tried a 2 meg pz3, actually still only took a bit longer than the little one but Vue choked on it once it was in. Ran like molasses in slow mo ! it was 220, 000 polys. Got out of that and tried a 186 meg file with 3 people and lots of architecture.... came "flying " in at about 14 minutes. 750,000 polys. Was running sluggishly but just about moveable. Deleted the 3 people, saved the rest as a Vue obj and reimported it back in at 120, 000 polys. Am happily adding atmosphere ,water etc. Lol, not reflective of my working methods, just wanted to see what Vue could do with random Poser files. So it was all about lack of patience on my part though I am very curious as to why I have never up until now in any forums come across mention of the kind of import times people are experiencing. Someone at e-on forums said 1/2 hour, someone else here at Renderosity in the mac forum waits up to an hour. I really think the Vue manual, where it covers this on pages 30 -32 should mention this !!! Am I the only impatient one who consideres this less than ideal ? 15 minutes is ok in my book though ; ) On the very plus side Vue 6 is seeming much more stable than 5 was for me. 5Inf always crashed randomly and with all my messing about Vue 6Inf hasn't crashed once today . I had all but given up on Vue. 'Course I haven't tried any of the fancier stuff being posted about in the forums concerning 6 yet. But am a happy camper now that this hurdle has been cleared. Ta all for your imput, much appreciated ! -Gini
