Please see the information at the attached Front Page article link regarding the new Link Share

Stacey, my "Sponsored By" link is not showing up in my gallery.  When I go to the LinkShare code page provided by the story, I get the message "Your website has been approved"  and gives me the stats from my website on the old ring and says my linkshare membership is active, and yet....no link in my gallery!

Hi Giolon,

The Sponsored By links will be appearing under the gallery images (like they used to in the old webring) in approx a week.  The coding for that section is still being worked on.  Just keep an eye out and you will see it soon.

Thanks

Lyne ( ) posted Tue, 07 November 2006 at 2:11 PM

I don't get it....I went to MY web site and clicked my "old" web ring link and I came RIGHT HERE with the address and MY number... looks like it's referring anyway...

Can I use a better picture than the rather plain ones you provide? Like the beautiful logo designed for the site?  I did save the smallest one...and I renamed it...bet that was a no no or it will not match the code? sigh...

Also the minute I clicked the link share in the article it seemed to indicate I was approved? huh? Sorry but between my dyslexia and the fact that "it is still being worked on" part about how folks can come back to MY site... confused... maybe we should wait for both ends to be done?

Nowhere on any of the pages, either the announcement or the Link Code page, does it say that our own link back will not be available for some time.  Perhaps the big rollout of the code and banners should have been held off until the feature is actually complete so nobody is confused and there's actually a mutual benefit.

I have a question.

I've selected a link to see the link share code, because I want to change the renderosity banner code on my homepage. After selecting the link I see a page which begins with the following message:

Link Share

Thank you for submitting your website to the Renderosity Link Share program.

What does that mean? What do I have to do now?

X-PaX, When you submit your site it goes into Pending and then you will get an ebot when it's approved.

Lyne, your site was approved.  The "sponsored by" links are in the gallery.  That was part of last night's maintenance.  Here's a link to your gallery so you can see it in action. http://www.renderosity.com/mod/gallery/browse.php?username=Lyne

Giolon, you can see your "sponsored by" RadiantCG too. http://www.renderosity.com/mod/gallery/browse.php?username=Giolon

Sorry for the delay, and thanks for your patience : )

Thank you,
Jen

Although I can see and click the link under my images I get the following URL when following it:
http://www.renderosity.com/mod/linkshare/blah.php

telling me:

Not Found

The requested URL /mod/linkshare/blah.php was not found on this server.

Did I do something wrong?!

By the way: I like that "blah.php"-thing, I'm already thinking about adding a "blah-blah.htm" to my site

Hold tight and let me go check this for you

StaceyG ( ) posted Wed, 08 November 2006 at 4:00 PM

Okay SaintFox, you are all set. Your submitted Link Share was still pending approval but has now been approved and I checked the "sponsored by" link and it is working fine now:)

Thanks

SaintFox ( ) posted Wed, 08 November 2006 at 4:03 PM

Ahhh... okay, now I understand. As I'm part of the old webring since one year or so I wa a bit puzzled. I had to submit a new URL because I changed my hoster but what you find is the same (growing)  content. Yes, I'm a dummy, I forgot about the new URL... Thanks, Stacey!

Hello Stacey, now I was able to edit the name of the URL, too - very fine. One more question: My hubby, Digital-Lion, has his own sections under the same URL (for instance: http://www.fox-art.eu/!_DL/painted_pain/index.html - be careful and protect your eyes, it's VERY blue 😉). Is it fraudulent use if he applies to be part of the webring, too, or is it okay?

The problem is that I have selected the link at the top of this thread.

Then i've read the text and so the parapraph 'You can get the new Link share code here'.

I've clicked this one because I only want to take a look and I was a bit confused as I saw the message 'Thank you for submitting your website' .

SaintFox, I think that would be fine for your hubby to submit his page....

X-Pac, so you are saying you just were reading up but didn't submit anything?

SaintFox ( ) posted Thu, 09 November 2006 at 5:02 PM

I am not sure Stacey.

There is a link under my gallery pictures referencing to my homepage http://www.3dspots.de

I've submitted this link a long time ago and it was approved at that time.

So, should I submit it again so that it will be displayed in the Renderosity LinkShare list?

If I should do this, were can I do it?

How long does it take until a link is approved?

No you don't need to "resubmit" there are a few changes you need to make to the Renderosity banner on your site but we will be sending an email out to all old webring participants regarding what exactly you need to do. You are on the list though if you had submitted your list through the old webring.

Hope that helps.

Thanks

I...uh...was, and am approved...and if you go to the bottom of my web site page, and click the WORDS for rosity under my banner IT STILL WORKS FINE...I did not make any changes to my code, and I also tested that my web site under my thumbs or images here goes right to my site, again, fine! So why would I want to mess with something that is working for both of us?

if in the future it stops working I will put in the new code...but I kinda like the way it  looks and is working now! :))
