Anyone else using Vue 6 getting the vlog text file on your desktop every time you open vue.
I asked tech support and they said I could remove if of which I already knew but it keeeps coming back each time I open vue 6.
I would rather it open in the vue program files folder so its not cluttering my destop if at all possible.
Report this to tech if you gettting it and dont want it like me.   Also is anyone not getting the file. :)

Hi William

I'm getting this file except in my scene folder - i'm assuming it's just something left over from testing (perhaps a placeholder for dev debug info), so pretty sure it won't be in the final build.

As it's always empty - i'm sure there is no problem removing it either, but it will just reappear next time you run Vue. I've not seen multiple copies appear so probably just one to best ignore for now.

Kind regards

lol...i was wondering where that  vlog text file kept coming from...to answer your question...yes i get that too

bruno021 ( ) posted Wed, 08 November 2006 at 8:16 AM

I have it both on the desktop and in the vue folder. If I delete it on the desktop, it keeps coming back. Didn't report it, though, had other things to do with Vue6. Hope they fix it, but  since it's not very important,  it might  not be fixed too soon.

lol...i'm sure its nothing major...its really funny though...seems though vue 6 has a mind of its own and does strange things...i'm finding lots of bugs...i'm not gonna let it worrie me though...and dear lord is it just me or does vue 6 struggle with poser imports and xfrog plants ?

thefixer ( ) posted Wed, 08 November 2006 at 8:42 AM

Well I have imported a few P6 pz3's ok but I did have this one where it was all there except for V3, she'd gone walkabout in cyberspace in the crossover!!  Her hair and boots came, but alas not the fair maiden herself!!!!

Haven' had any problems with P6 nor XFrog plants. Are the plants in vob format?

Malstorm ( ) posted Wed, 08 November 2006 at 9:14 AM

Monterey Cypress tree from cornucopia 3d...yep its vob format...just seems when i open it vue 6 really slows down badly...i get the same with poser figures...on a pentium 4 cpu 2.80ghz 2 gig of ram...do you think a better graphics card will speed things up ? on that note i dont even know what graphics card i even have i know vue has trouble reading it

Ok I'm home and absolutely no Vlog text file on the desktop, there's one in my programme folder but it's blank!

the file is based on how you launch vue.  If you launch vue from the desktop it appears there.

thefixer ( ) posted Wed, 08 November 2006 at 10:49 AM

Ah I always launch from the start menu, in one of the quick load slots!

I launch from a shortcut from the desktop.
It is a little anoying to see something there that I dont want on my desktop.
Looks like if eon wants it to appear they would have it set to appear in program files where Vue is installed to.
Poor piece of coding is how I see it and yes I hope they get it fixed or remove it completly in an upgrade,
I am just getting use to vue 6 so the bugs will come as I get more into it. :)
I will test the monterey cypress off the xfrog plants cd I have that it is on. :) It is in sfr file formatt so will convert it to a 3ds or a lwo formatt and import into Vue and then save as a vob.

E-on tech support has confirmed this is a bug and will be fixed in next update.

Quote from e-on:  " This is indeed a bug and will be fixed in the next update. Thanks for your input."
