Hi all, I neep help on this one ! I've modelled this sprite in Carrara and i'm planning to sell it for Poser . Well, i don't have Poser yet, but i will buy it soon ... It is displayed here with some quick textures and lightning . I've uploaded an image that shows the untextured model in the Carrara gallery ( link ) . Anyway, there is some things i'd like to know : 1- Is the scale important ? Do anybody here have experienced problems with scaling when exporting from Carrara to Poser ? 2- I could begin to make the UV mapping if only i knew how to separate the parts of the model . Do i have to give particular names to the parts ? Note that i'd like to animate the ears too . 3- I'll add the inner mouth to the model . Do you think it needs teeth, or a tongue ? 4- What kind of morph targets and props would you suggest ? Thanks, and don't hesitate to make comments ! litst litst.@freesbee.fr

  1. Scale is important, but you can always import the obj into Poser (once you have it), scale it and re-export it as obj in order to fix that.

  2. You can name the parts whatever you want, BUT it helps to name them logically, so you can easily figure out their hierarchy, and its also good to name them similar to other poser figures so your customers will readily know how to pose it. You must name the parts exactly if you want it to be compatible with poses or bvh's from other characters.

  3. teeth and a tongue would certainly help it to sell better. While no teeth or tongue wouldn't be a big reason not to buy it, there's no point in giving anyone any excuses to pass up your product.

  4. When you get poser, check out the head morphs of one of the default figures. You probably don't need ethnicity morphs, but it would be a good idea to have all the pheonomes (so that it is Mimic compatible) as well as your basics like open lips, blink right, blink left, etc...

Hope this helps. And your model looks great!

Thanks a lot for your detailled answer, JKeller ! :) It will help me a lot . I have the Poser demo, so i'll be able to pick the names of the parts there . Thanks again, litst
