i RECOMMEND GOING TO A GOOD CAMERA STORE AND ASKING TO TRY THEM,  I use canon but i know the Nikons are equally as good!!  I Have the canon 300d and 400d and my freind has the Nikon D80 = we took the same scene shot together with same tripod and similar lens setting (mm) and they were very similar shots with only slight differences in tones/colour!!  Its up to you!!
