Dude, that was MOST unfair.... roflmao....

Just as an education, the Saxons landed in our area of England... a lot of words that Geordie's and Northumbrian's use are actually closer to anglo-saxon English than the rest of the country - words like 'gannin' for going and 'hyem' for home.  What people correct as bad grammer (things like 'axed' for asked) are actually historically correct.  You can tell as you work South how the Geordie words filter out and the Latin influence on words takes over.

Ironically, spending the time in the States had the effect of diluting my Geordie quite a bit - it seems like they only understand you if you talk like Hugh Grant.... but thankfully the girls love the English accent so it's not a bad thing.... he he he.  And don't lose any sleep, within a week of being back I was taakin proper (talking properly) again....lol
